Dr. Richard Cruse is the director for the Iowa Water Center and a professor in the Agronomy Department at Iowa State University. His research program involves field and laboratory research in: 1) Soil and Crop Management; 2) applied Soil Physics; and 3) Soil Fertility. Objectives include evaluating the effect of tillage and cropping systems on: 1) soil and water conservation; 2) soil physical properties; and 3) crop growth and yield. He teaches one graduate level soil management course. Additionally, he advises in the Masters of Science in Agronomy distance education program. Cruse is a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and the Soil Science Society of America and the current president of the National Institutes for Water Resources Board of Directors.
