Dr. Mark Solomon has worked on Idaho water resource issues for several decades with an emphasis on managing water resources in complex jurisdictional environments. He was honored as one of the nation’s Fifty Heroes of the Clean Water Act by a national consortium of advocacy groups at the occasion of the Act’s fiftieth anniversary. He is an expert in participatory stakeholder engagement in water resource research.
Prior to his tenure with the Idaho Water Resources Research Institute, Dr. Solomon advocated for water resources as an elected county commissioner, as director of a major regional environmental NGO, and as the governor’s appointee to numerous water resource advisory boards and committees. Dr. Solomon received his Ph.D. in Water Resources from the University of Idaho in 2011.
